Journal entry by Karen Burke

I was thrilled to see so many Canes come out to enjoy this day with Gail and me. 19 of us! This trail is a work in progress, not officially marked but fairly easy to follow. We did an 8 mile round trip and finished our hike at the new bridge, which flows over a creek, previously thought to be West Stony Creek, but we have new evidence proving that this is not West Stony. In any case it is a beautiful spot to eat lunch, with cascading waterfalls.

Before the end, however, there were many sights to be seen. There was beautiful lily pad-filled Mud Lake - the one end of this lake looking like something out of a prehistoric era - I always expect a pterodactyl to fly over head. We also passed the Spaceship Rock and of course, the promised Frankenstein Rock. I forgot to point out Dog Rock, but I am including a picture of it from another trip.

My thanks to all - I hope I got all the names, forgive my spelling - Ed, Gail L., Kendra, Kathy G., Joanne, Fran, Margie, Lynn, Jo-el, Kathy C., Katie, Joy, Jean, Linda, Peter, Diane and Kurt.
